I noticed the last time I wrote I had been trying to eat raw…
since then I’ve only tried once more, the reason I stopped was because aside from the huge calorie deficiency I was getting, I was also having extreme difficulty focusing. Since I’m still in school for another few weeks, and I know it’s going to make such an impact on me, I decided on waiting until summer begins to eat 100% raw—for now, I’m eating partially raw—or as raw as I can.
On a slightly different note, recently, my focus has been strongly towards the concept of ‘binging.’ Because, I’ve done this a few times since I’ve been really trying to eat healthier. After a few days of eating healthy—I eat one unhealthy food and it throws me completely off track. What bothers me about the concept of binge eating is that I know I can control myself, but something in me takes over and I just do it. I don’t even get much satisfaction from it either, but it’s almost like in that moment, I know I have the ability to absolutely just enjoy any food I want to and as much as I’d like to. It becomes an impulse- and my mind, my thought, my beliefs become clouded.
I want to eat healthy so bad and I do, just there are times when I get way off track. My goal is to stay on track for the rest of the school year especially. Also, prepare myself so when summer arrives and I can start eating 100% raw and I won’t have such a difficult time. To start, for the rest of the school year I plan on eliminating all bread from my diet.
Yesterday ended up as a really nice day. I woke up, had oatmeal, read for a little, did some yoga, then I made a snack which was a smoothie (with 3 celery sticks, a handful of baby spinach and frozen pieces of mango). After that I watched Friends and made a dreamcatcher- which was when I started to get hungry…
I haven’t even eaten raw for a full day and I’m already struggling with it. I’m sure I can do it easily, but I don’t think I’ve done enough research on recipes etc. Last night when I started to get hungry, I really wanted to make kale chips. Only because I knew I wasn’t going to eat raw for dinner so that was sort of my excuse. They didn’t really fill me up but atleast I chose a healthy alternative while I was waiting for dinner- (which is a major part of what I’m trying to achieve from this journey: a healthier lifestyle… so I guess that’s still good). I had the BEST dinner last night though. My family was eating steak tips for dinner so I had these tofu steak tip type things. Along with that I had left overs from this garden salad stuff my mom made two nights ago with quinoa and some ground veggies and a little bit of cheese that made it taste like mac and cheese. I also had home fries (the one food my whole family was eating) and sauteed mushrooms. I didn’t really feel bad about the dinner because it was the first time in a while that my whole family has eaten together. I did eat a mostly raw dessert though, I made a chocolate syrup by 100% cacao powder and agave nectar and a tiny bit of unsweetened almond milk and dipped frozen mangos and strawberries in it.
All in all though, I still woke up today and I feel really good. This has not stopped me from keep up my journey with food. I will continue to try eating raw and healthy and Earth friendly :)

My last post was in January. I don’t know what happened. I sort of got off track for a little while but got back into my weight loss again much more recently. I haven’t gained any weight back, I’m still at 117, but I’m making a promise to myself and my blog that untill I reach my goal weight, I’m going to become much more adamant about posting updates etc. My March goal was to lose 4 pounds. With three weeks left to go I hope to achieve this goal. If I fail to, I’ll atleast try to come close. There are 21 days left!! I can at LEAST lose 2 if not 3 pounds. I’ve been doing 50 push ups a day and 20 curls. Also, with these next two weeks being spring break and all I want to try the raw food diet. Which is soley fruits and veggies and nuts. This can be exciting!! I plan to eat as raw as possible. I’ll be looking forward to posting my intake and journey as well. :)
